As we had enjoyed the riding at the Kokopelli trail area so much we decided to head back and do more riding in the area. It was a glorious sunny day when we arrived at car lot. We had decided to ride the Grand Loop with extra's, which took in most of the trails in the area. |
We started the ride by doing the Rustlers practice loop, then Mary's Loop and down to Horsetheif bench loop again. The trails were even better the second time around as we were more familiar with the trail. |
We then rode along Mary's trail and then rode Steve's Loop |
From Steve's loop we rode Handcuffs, this trail was great as it countered round the edge of a canyon, the picture below to the left shows the trail on both sides of the canyon. |
From handcuffs we then rode the Lions Loop , where we saw cool lizards sunning them selves on the rocks. |
From the Lion trail we rode Troy's Loop, which was more tricky than most of the trails we had already ridden on, but all rideable.
At the end of Troy's loop we then rode up mack ridge. And then down to frontage road. We rode 30 miles in total on this day , a good end to hour biking holiday. |
We then drove into downtown Grand Junction and had some really good pizza at Pablo's' Pizza Picasso. WHen we got back to the Hotel I packed up the mountain bikes. |
