I got up fairly early and packed after having breakfast at the Hotel, today I was going to drive from Flagstaff to Henderson in Nevada. The Fairfield Inn had yet again proved to be a good place to stay nice and quiet and a very comfortable bed.
| This is the route I took to get to Henderson, along the way I stopped at Kingman to fill up with Fuel and buy some snacks , and I stopped off at Boot Leg canyon to do some mountain biking near Boulder city. I drove about 250 miles from Flagstaff to my Hotel at Henderson. |

Driving Route - Flagstaff to Vegas |
The drive was fairly uneventful on long straight roads, to get to boulder city I drove over the Hoover dam, it looked as if they were building a new road to bypass the dam.
| Once I had found the Bootleg Canyon trail head, I unpacked my bike and got ready to ride. As I set off on my ride I met a local rider and he joined me for the ride. We started out the ride heading up West Leg trail. |
 |

West Leg Trail looking back |
The west leg trail was pretty smooth and not that wide and climbed up towards the Caldera trail, with some ups and downs, and off camber trail sections. |

Bootleg Canyon Singletrack (18MB) |
At then end of the west leg trail we headed along the inner Caldera trail, the Caldera trail had more rocky sections than the West Leg trail. |

Its steeper than it looks

At the junction with the outer Caldera trail we headed back towards the Girl Scout Trail |
 |
| We then headed down the girl scout trail, a fun fast easy rolling singletrack back towards the car park. |
 |
 |
Then we headed west along mother trail a fun singletrack with some steep ups and downs, and turned off down the POW trail, which was fast and smooth, If I had not taken off my big ring I would have been cranking in it down this trail.
| At the end of POW we rode back along the Par None trail to the Car park where the guy I'd been riding with Headed home. As I still had plenty of time and life in my legs I decided to do some more riding. |
 |

Riding along Upper Lake View Trail Singletrack |
From the Car Park I headed off down Middle Lake View, and then connected onto Upper Lake View. I stopped here and eat some powerbars, it was pleasantly warm with a light breeze blowing - perfect riding conditions. |
 |
 |
When I finished riding the Upper lake view trail , I headed across the dirt road and rode back up Girl Scout Trail. It was a good way to get back up the canyon, no severe gradient or technical features to worry about. |

As the sun was setting I decided to call it a day and packed my bike up, down at the car park there was a white van full of single speeder's, who I would see again, and again on the rest of my holiday. The riding had been fun at Bootleg Canyon, although not a scenic as the riding had been in other places - It would be well worth revisiting again though. |
 |
I then drove to my Hotel a Hampton Inn & Suites in Henderson, I had a nice quite room with a huge king size bed. After unpacking everything from my SUV (After being told by front desk if I didn't it would probably get stolen). I went to an Outback Restaurant nearby and had an ok meal, then I went to a supermarket and bought another 15 Liters of bottled water and some snacks before getting back to the hotel at 11pm. |
