Today I was going to meet up with Mike a chap i'd been introduced to by Gary back in Flagstaff. As Mike lived North of St George, I drove up the I15 to the Torquerville tuning where I waited for him to be dropped off by his wife. We then drove to Little Creek. At Little Creek I spotted the single speeders van I'd seen at Bootleg Canyon again. We then set off on the Little Creek Mountain Bike trail. |

Little Creek Single track (11 MB) |
Along the way Mike showed my some Rock art - that had been down on the slick rock.
The views from Little Creek over towards Zion were great, and the clouds added to the atmosphere, the trail itself was very entertaining , and it rolled along very nicely. |
| There were various parts on the ride where the trail went across wide areas of slick rock, with plenty of opportunities to play around on the rock, I'm glad I had a guide as it would at time have been easy to miss the rock piles marking the trail. |
We stopped for the obligatory staged photo shots at this point on the Mesa, using the cameras timer function to get us both in the frame. |
There were no big ups or downs on the ride as, but it did roll up and down quite a bit, at times in the open and at other time closed in in the scrub. |

Little Creek east rim (11 MB) |
| Mandatory picture taking of the little bridge crossing, there is quite a drop off to the side, but you'd really have to be riding badly to fall off. |

Heading back south (21 MB) |
We now headed back southwards away from the rim, onto some more open slick rock areas, it looked as if it might rain, but we were lucky and it didn't. |
One of things I liked about this ride was the single track rolled nicely, it had just enough technical features to keep you on your toes, and had plenty of options to do tricky stuff if you wanted to. |
Like this spot where the trail dropped steeply down some slick rock - its steeper than the picture make it look. I found an alternate easier line and Mike just plunged straight down it.

We had now nearly finished the ride and headed up past a pond that was full of water, back towards the car. |
I had really enjoyed the little creek ride, it was perfect riding fro a XC country rider like me, good single track, a smattering of technical riding, and fantastic views. Coupled with the good company provided by Mike it was a great ride. Which I will definitely come back to do again.

Little Creek MTB Ride Route |
I took Mike back St George where we exchanged contact details, I then headed back to the Hotel had a swim and used the Hot Tub. In the evening I went out and got my self a tasty In & Out Burger & Shake. |
