We had another swim in the pool before we departed for Grand Junction, and then checked out at 10am. Disposed of rubbish down a rubbish chute - a first for me. Hotel Room had been great , it might not have been cheap but had been a good place to stay. I stopped of at the bike shop to buy some more tyres and powerbar elixir tablets. |

The roads to Grand Junction weren't too busy and we make fairly quick progress, at time the views were great. But most of the time it was just dull straight roads, but there didn't seem to be too many traffic cops around. |
 |
| The route we took was about 290 miles long, and we arrived at Grand Junction at about 4pm, where we checked into the La Quinta Inn, which I had pre booked over the Internet while we were in Park City. |

We dropped of our luggage at the Hotel, and drove over to Lunch Loops Trails area. Where Clare drove me to the top the Ribbon Trail and dropped me off. She then drove back down to the lower car park, and went for a run around the Holy Cross Trail. |

It was still quite hot even as the sun was setting, and the trail was as much fun as i remembered from previous rides. I didn't stop to take too many pictures, as there was a danger that the sun would go down, and Clare would be waiting for me down at the SUV. The ribbon trail has some huge sections of slick rock to ride down, along with some great sections of singletrack. |

Its funny how after just a year you can forget things about a trail, I'd forgotten about the hike a bike section of the trail heading up from the creek bed this was part of Andy's Trail. |
 |
 |
After the hike a bike section the trail headed back down again, until it climbed back up again towards the car park on Eagles trail. |

Clare had a good run, although she said that she felt a bit nervous doing the run as she saw no one else, and thought mountain lions might fancy her as a snack. She had to wait 20 minutes for me to get back to the car after she finished her run which was about 5 miles. |

We then drove back to the hotel and had a swim. We then went and ate at Tequila’s Mexican. Very good food and reasonably priced. Clare had prawn fajitas and I had Chicken Mole and a pina colada.
We then packed up clare's bike ready for her to go home.
