On this day we were going to do the VF Piz de Lech near Covera, but as we drove there we could see that the mountain was covered in black cloud, so we decided to drive to another pass in the hope of evading rain. We ended up in Canazei and decided to do the VF dei Finanzieri - Colac. We caught the Ciampac cable up Rif Tobia del Giagher. The pics shown to the left and right show the peak we were to climb to.
This VF is good climb with a total ascent of 700m, 600m of Via ferrata and 600m of descent.
We stopped at the top and had lunch and and admired the great views from the top.
We then headed down the rather sketchy at times descent down a gully
Eventually we came out of the gully and then hiked back to the cable car through some grassy meadows, lots of flowers were in bloom, and we saw lots of Marmots.
We then caught the cable car back down to the the car then drove into Canazei and had some great ice cream's from a cafe in the town.
