We decided to do the VF Via delle Trincee near Arraba, as the cable car from arraba was not running we hiked up route 698 all the way to the start of the VF, this was a quite long steep hike. But the good thing about the cable car not running was we were the only people on the VF

The last time we did this VF Clare was unable to do the first part of it a steep pitch up a slab, so we tried to get her up it again, unfortunately it defeated her again. So I carried on with the climb, and she walked around the first very steep section, and then climbed back up onto the ridge to meet up again. |

This VF is great as there's a lot of variety from slab climbing, crossing bridges, stemples and ladders and tunnels and it has 300m of Via ferrata. The day was pretty perfect as well with it being warm and sunny.
Part of the way along the VF Clare scrambled up to the ridge and joined me for the remainder of the VF

At the end of the VF we hiked down to a Rif and had some cold drinks before we started to hike back down route 699 to Pizac peak. |

From Pizac we then hiked back down through woods to Arraba. It had been a very long day. |
