We left Salinas and drove to Monterey Bay and went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which was great with an amazing variety of fish and other aquatic animals and interesting exhibits, we had a good lunch at the aquarium, and then decided to go and rent sea kayaks to paddle around on the bay.

We rented two sea kayaks from Monterey Bay Kayaks We then paddled out into the bay past the harbor, and past the aquarium. We saw sea lions, sea otters and lots of birds, and paddled over the kelp forests. It was great to get out on the water.

Once we had finished kayaking we went for a walk from the Kayak Rental place to fisherman's wharf, and saw more Sea Lions, and also bought some great ice creams from one of the stores.

We then drove to our Hotel in San Jose a Hampton Inn and Suites and checked in, we had a great suite with a huge lounge / kitchen area, free high speed internet, and separate bedroom with king size bed.

Once we had got cleaned up we drove into San Jose to a Cheesecake Factory restaurant where the food was greta but we had to wait a long time to get a table as it was so popular.
