South Mountain Night ride

I slept in late today, and got up at 10.am, I had been thinking about doing a big loop up at Hawes suggested to me by a local but I decided against this, as i didn't have enough time or detailed instructions for doing the route. So I decided to head over to my favorite Phoenix riding Location again - Pima & Dynamite. |  |

It was the hottest day of the holiday so far, and found even more fun new routes to ride on. |

I rode the trails until the sun started to set, and then headed back to the Hotel. |

As this was my last day of the holiday after scoffing some energy bars I decided to drive over to South Mountain and ride the National trail at night. The car park was closed so I found a church car park that was well lit near the entrance and rode from there. One thing you really notice riding at night is how much stuff is floating around in the air all the time, on this ride i had a burning sensation in my lungs from the bad air.

Bad air aside I had a great ride and saw Owls, Coyote and Javelina while I was riding, and various unidentified glowing eyes. I climbed up the Mormon Trail then up the National trail to the waterfall and then turned around and rode back down the National trail and then back out of the park to the SUV. I clocked up 49.9 miles on my last day & night of riding. |

Drove back to the Hotel had a swim and a Hot tub and then started to pack up my gear ready for my journey home the next day.
